As I approach my 57th birthday in April, I reflect on a life filled with twists and turns, triumphs, and challenges. One thing that has remained constant is my love for beauty, fashion, and of course, food. With over 400 pairs of shoes adorning my closet, you could say I have a bit of a passion for footwear. But beyond the material indulgences, my journey has been one of self-discovery and self-care.

Unlike many in today’s society, I’ve opted to age gracefully, steering clear of cosmetic surgeries and procedures. No Botox, no fillers—just a commitment to taking care of my skin and overall well-being. Home beauty gadgets, meticulous skincare routines, and staying hydrated (always an issue) have been my allies in this pursuit. I strive to eat organic 96% to 98% of the time, nourishing my body from the inside out. This is my choice. Yours might be different, and that’s ok.
However, life threw me a curveball when I encountered weight loss struggles and subsequent health issues. Despite once being a size 4, medical complications and medication-induced weight gain derailed my progress. A need for a hip replacement further impeded my ability to stay active, exacerbated by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In January 2022, I contracted COVID-19, leading to a harrowing hospitalization and an extended period of recovery at home. Bedridden and reliant on oxygen, I faced the stark reality of my physical limitations. Determined to reclaim my health and vitality, I look forward to relocating to “Margaritaville” and reigniting my fitness journey.
As I navigate the complexities of aging, I confront the visible signs on my skin—fine lines, wrinkles, and those pesky lip lines that seem to defy concealment. A childhood injury beneath my right eye has left me with sunken eyes that no amount of makeup can fully disguise. Yet, despite these imperfections, I embrace the journey and the stories etched into my skin.
Makeup has become both a tool for enhancement and a mask for self-expression. Some days, I feel more confident bare-faced, while other days, a touch of makeup accentuates my features. It’s a delicate balance of embracing imperfection while indulging in the artistry of beauty.
As I embark on this new chapter, I invite you to join me on my blog and subscribe for exclusive content. Together, let’s celebrate the beauty of aging gracefully, the joy of fashion, and the comfort of good food.
Here’s to embracing life’s journey, one stiletto at a time.
